What are the folders "Learn FP" and "Learn Spam" that are created when you login into Squirrelmail used for? I assume a Bayes filter, however how is the best way to use them?

That's correct, they are used to help train your personal bayesian filters.

The Learn Spam folder is where you should place messages that are spam, but weren't caught by SpamAssassin. Learn FP is where you should place a a message that was tagged as spam, but really isn't (FP stands for 'False Positive').

Messages placed in "Learn FP" are stripped of any SpamAssassin markup, and later re-delivered to your inbox. This makes it safe to simply move a message into Learn FP (for instance, via SquirrelMail).

The folders are processed automatically at several times during the day.
